Cristiano Ronaldo set to quit Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo cast a shadow over Real Madrid’s third consecutive Champions League triumph by suggesting he could have played his last game for the Spanish giants in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in Kiev.

Real Madrid’s French coach Zinedine Zidane (R) celebrates with Real Madrid’s Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo after winning the UEFA Champions League final football match between Liverpool and Real Madrid at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine, on May 26, 2018. / AFP PHOTO / Ronaldo, 33, has now won five European Cups in all, but failed to score in a fourth final as Gareth Bale was the hero for Real after coming off the bench to score twice.

“I am going to enjoy this moment and in the next few days I will give an answer to the fans, who have always been at my side,” Ronaldo told BeIN Sports Spain. “It was very nice to be at Real Madrid. In the next few days I will speak.” Ronaldo later admitted his immediate post-match comments had been ill-timed. “It wasn’t the perfect time. I don’t want to take away any credit from what Madrid have done. To win three consecutive Champions Leagues is a unique moment, he added. “Personal situations are not important at this moment.” Ronaldo’s comments appeared to target Real president Florentino Perez for a lack of support. However, Perez hinted he was tired of Ronaldo’s intimations he could leave. It isn’t the first time Ronaldo, who joined Real from Manchester United for a then-world record fee in 2009, has appeared close to the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu. In 2012 he claimed to be “sad” in Madrid, and, even after securing a first European Cup and La Liga double for Madrid in 59 years last season, Ronaldo was also reportedly looking to leave. Then, it was for what he perceived as a lack of support from the club over an ongoing tax investigation into the management of his image rights from the Spanish authorities. Ronaldo himself said this week of speculation over who might arrive at Real: “They always speak about 50 players and in the end no one comes.” “Here the most important thing is the club, and the most important thing is that we are celebrating this Champions League,” Perez told Antena3. “I am not going to go into the personal situations of any player because, as he himself says, nothing ever happens.” Ronaldo still has three years to run on a lucrative five-year contract signed in 2016. “Cristiano likes to be wanted,” said Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. “He will not find a better place than here. He is our true star, whether he scores goals or not. I don’t know why he has said that, but we respect him.” Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, who become the first ever manager to win three consecutive European Cups, said that Ronaldo must stay. “I’m not thinking about that. We are thinking about what we are doing now, about the game, about what we have achieved,” said the Frenchman. “Cristiano has to stay.”

Davido teaching Wizkid a lesson in fatherhood?

Taking a first look at Nigerian superstar pop artiste, David Adeleke, popularly known as ‘Davido’, from a distance, one would be tempted to think he lacks the charisma to be a doting father. But such is hardly the case with the multi-award winning singer, record label CEO and recently, manager.

After a rigorous, meticulous investigation,  Potpourri  discovered that in spite of his tight schedule, ever since the birth of his daughters,  Imade Aurora Adeleke and Hailey Veronica Adeleke, he has always made out time to express love and care for them anytime the opportunity presents itself. The very first sign that Davido would be a doting father was when he named his first daughter, Imade, after his late mother, on May 14, 2015, after which he made series of fatherly promises to protect her till his last breath and be her everything, from a friend to a bodyguard. Critics would’ve thought his busy schedule or lifestyle would prevent him from spending quality time with or taking care of Imade, but surprisingly it didn’t. Photos of him bottle-feeding her surfaced online, he took her on her first trip overseas at 4-months old, and he shared a video of him dressing her up, all indications that he is always there for her, even though he may not be at best of terms with her mother, Sophia Momodu, his first babymama. When she finally grew old enough to begin schooling, he gave everything to ensure he experienced it firsthand as he shared photos of her first day at school on his Snapchat page. Basking in the euphoria of seeing his toddling daughter babbling his 2017 Song of the Year, IF, he made a video of her and posted it on social media. During his 30 Billion Concert in December 2017, Davido surprised his fans when he brought Imade to the stage during his performance, to the excitement of the audience, another indication that he is truly a doting father. Fast forward to January 2018, Davido shared adorable photos where he was sharing a cupcake with Imade at the birthday party of Naomi, Shina Peller’s daughter who turned 12 in January 2018. On  January 12, he shared ‘Back to school’ photos of Imade with the caption “My baby back to school swag”. On  January 17, he shared a picture of Imade on his Instagram page with the caption “The swag is inbuilt! My Ada”, after which on  January 26, he shared a photo of her on Instagram and captioned it “Omo OBO! Thank God for you!” The ‘Assurance’ singer who hasn’t missed any of Imade’s birthday parties created time to send a birthday shout out to her on Instagram when she clocked 3 on May 15, 2018. He uploaded adorable photos of her with the caption “Happy Birthday My first, My love, My everything.” To crown it all, he recently got Imade’s name tattooed on his left arm Though his second babymama, Amanda, was caught clubbing recklessly a few weeks after delivering his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, he didn’t hold it against the innocent infant by refusing to fulfill his fatherly duties, instead he showered her with all the love and care she deserves. To begin with, he went all out to throw a lavish baby shower for her in Atlanta where he revealed her name even before her birth. After her delivery on  May 9, 2017, he named her Veronica, also after his late mother, Dr. Imade Veronica Adeleke, who died at the young age of 39. As usual, he took to social media to announce the arrival of his second daughter right from the hospital. “She’s here. Hailey Veronica Adeleke has come to ball. Thank you Jesus. She’s too beautiful”, he wrote. On March 30, 2018, he shared a playtime video of himself and Hailey dancing with the caption “Mini me.” May 9, he travelled to Atlanta to throw her first birthday party, with his Atlanta based baby mama and late mom’s only sister in attendance. On Father’s day, he shared photos of both daughters stating that he is out working hard for his children.

Love means everything to me – Dayo Amusa

Delectable Nollywood actress,Dayo Amusa may not look like one, but she is no doubt a sucker for love.

“Love means everything to me,” she revealed in a chat with  Potpourri. She further proves to know a thing about the mystery of love as she explained that the feeling of love is unconditional and immeasurable. “There is nothing one can’t do for love. If you love someone you go out of your way to do anything for that person, as a matter of fact, if you truly love someone or something, the feeling is unconditional and cannot be measured.” “You can never predict what you can and cannot do for love, if you are being factual about what you can do for love then I must say that you are not in love.” In the wake of the death of actress, Aishat Abimbola to breast cancer, Dayo Amusa who is the vice chairman of Actor’s Guild of Nigeria(AGN), Lagos chapter talks on the role her association plays in ensuring the health of its members. “We have partnered and are still in partnership with so many private health sectors that deal with health insurance and our members are beneficiaries of this. But some individuals tend to keep their private lives from the public and we can’t address what we know nothing about. In Aishat Abimbola’s case, it wasn’t that she needed fund to get anything done; it was just a situation that was beyond everybody, and I pray that God gives everyone of us the grace to live long,” she said.

Big boobs bring joy and pain – Obianuju

It is difficult enough to miss a beautiful woman in a crowd. And when that beautiful woman is blessed with monstrous towering twin towers, it is simply impossible not to notice her in a crowd. Such is the case of the Instagram sensation known as Obianujueo, an Information and Communications Engineering graduate, who has no claim to stardom but by posting her mere innocent, non-provocative pictures which have earned her close to 100 thousand followers.

Unlike the boobs-toting slay queens who have made the Instagram their hunting ground to poach randy men, Obianuju doesn’t flaunt her boobs. No cleavage-bearing dresses or revealing apparels or provocative poses. She’s simple, innocent and decent. It is only Mother Nature that has made her a goldfish that has no hiding place, on account of her sprawling mammary. Regardless of her timidity and shyness, the IT graduate speaks with Potpourri on the joy and pain of being blessed with big boobs. “ One big problem of having big boobs is the attention you get. People keep staring and that could be very embarrassing. The other one is the backaches and the difficulty of wearing or getting bras that fit your boobs,” she said. “ Getting clothes that fit you properly without your blouse jumping out is another problem. Then, the weight of the boobs. You keep on having bra marks on your shoulders,” she added. On the bright side, Obianuju admitted that you only feel blessed when you have learnt to fully love yourself the way you are “You feel different from every other woman, like you are unique. You feel blessed. As for your relationship with men, it is almost always negative. Most of them come to you mainly because of the breast, so, it is difficult to tell who truly likes you,” she said.

$16b power project: Nigerians are waiting for your explanation, Agoro asks Obasanjo

FOLLOWING accusations and counter accusations among the presidency and former Presidents , Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan over $16billion power project, Dr Olapade Agoro, National Chairman of the National Action Council (NAC) has challenged the three Nigerian leader to stop the blame-game and explain their roles in series of mismanaged funds since 1999.

Agoro said this when speaking with newsmen in Ibadan Sunday on the occasion of Nigeria’s 19th anniversary of Democracy Day.

The NAC chairman said, “it was unfortunate that the 19 years of democratic process have brought about poverty, suffering and sorrow to Nigerians as a result of corruption and mismanagement of funds”.
“The 19 years of democratic experience in the country have been woefully messed up by corrupt politicians. What Nigerians need now is explanation on how some funds were mismanaged or embezzled.”
Besides, the cleric insisted that Nigerians also deserved to know more about the $62 billion left behind in the country’s foreign exchange reserve in 2007 when former President Obasanjo was leaving office got depleted to about $360 million within one year, and the missing $20 billion crude oil money alleged by the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
The NAC’s National Chairman, however, revealed that in order to create a platform for Buhari, Obasanjo and Jonathan to be heard, he (Agoro) would on August 16, 2018 organise a forum in Ibadan that would be tagged ” Face the Nation”, in which the trio and members of their economic teams will be invited to explain their roles in the alleged mismanagement of funds.
His words: “The issue of the $16 billion power project is not a blame-game issue. Buhari was partially right, claiming that Obasanjo spent $16 billion on the power project. The truth is that Obasanjo committed $12 billion, while the Yar’Adua/Jonathan’s administration committed $8 billion on the project”.
“This is, therefore, calling on Obasanjo to forget about asking anybody to go and read his book. Nigerians are not interested in that. Nigerians deserve to know what is happening. Nigerians are waiting for explanations on what happened to the money. It is, therefore, not an ordinary political words bring throwing about”, Agoro said.

The New Codeine Law (2 Years In Jail Or 500k Fine)

The House of Representatives has proposed a fine of N2million and a two-year jail term for organizations that will go against the ban on Tramadol and Codeine in the country.
Individual offenders will pay an N500,000 fine and 2 years imprisonment or both on conviction.
The bill is sponsored by Betty Apiafi from Rivers State and seeks to amend the Food, Drugs and Related Products (Registration) Act, 2004.
The Nigerian Government has done a fantastic job lately in curbing the menace and they are winning already as the product demand has nosedived due to the scarcity caused by the Ban.
